La Quercia is an initiative of the Brain Research Foundation with the objective to create more awareness and facilitate healing in the areas of Love and Emotions.

The BRF Onlus Foundation - Institute for Scientific Research in Psychiatry and Neuroscience, born in Lucca, intents to support scientific research in fields closely related to mental illness and more generally in the neurosciences. The functioning of the brain in relation to human behavior still contains huge undiscovered areas and unresolved issues. Next to research, the institute aims to create awareness and understanding for and to mental patients and their families around a series of psychiatric disorders.

Founder and President is Dr. Armando Piccinni, Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry and psychiatrist at the “Dipartimento di Medicina Clinica e Sperimentale” Section of Psychiatry, University of Pisa (www.armandopiccinni.it)

Along with a team of clinicians and researchers of recognized scientific value, the Foundation works together with leading Italian and international universities and participates in conferences, awareness campaigns, school projects, research and publications.
